Hi I'm Walker

I am from Kaysville, Ut. I have a white patch in my hair and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a student at Utah State University and love being an Aggie! I served in the Pennsylvania Pittsburgh Mission. I love doing anything outdoors and playing sports. I love spending time with my family and watching Disney movies late at night.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up a member of the Church but like every person I had to gain a testimony of my own. I have read the Book of Mormon and prayed to know if it is true. Heavenly Father has answered my prayer and confirmed to me the truthfulness of this gospel. I have found that the greatest joys that I have experienced in my life come from living the principles taught by Jesus Christ. I have learned that it is only by and through Jesus Christ that I can be cleansed from sin and live in His presence after this life. It is amazing to me that Jesus Christ not only atoned for me and my sins but also for all those that have come to this earth. As I have developed a personal relationship with my Father in Heaven and my Savior I have found more peace and happiness in my life. I know that Heavenly Father has a plan for each of us and wants us to live with Him again. He has provided the way for us to do so and it through His Son. Heavenly Father used Joseph Smith to restore the gospel in our day and time. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is here today in its fulness and it is such a wonderful blessing to have that in my life.

How I live my faith

I love doing service for others in the community for those in need each week. I try to be kind to others and to smile and say hello to people as I pass them on campus. I believe that it is so much more important to live the principles taught by Jesus Christ than to simply state that I do. So I try to live each day as the Savior taught by showing love to others and looking for ways to serve them.

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

Walker
We can increase our faith in Jesus Christ in many different ways. I have found that studying His words found in the scriptures is what helps me the most. It is in the scriptures that we find the teaching of Jesus Christ. By reading and studying His teachings and living them our faith can be strengthened. I find that as I study the scriptures and then put the principles in action that is when my faith grows the most. I can lean on what I have learned and use that when my faith is tested. Increasing our faith is a process that takes time. Faith in Jesus Christ doesn't come in an instant but after trying and testing. It is once we have endured trials and test that our faith will increase and we will be more prepared for the future. It is faith in Jesus Christ that helps me go through each day. I know that as I lean on him for strength I will be supported and be able to make it through whatever life throws at me. Show more Show less

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Walker
Coming to know our Father in Heaven can be approached much like we would approach getting to know our neighbor. It begins with talking to Him. By praying to Heavenly Father we will begin to feel that He is there listening to our prayers and that He loves us. In James 4:8 it says that as we "draw nigh to God, he will draw nigh to you." I know that by doing the things that draw us close to Heavenly Father, like praying or reading the scriptures, we will feel His presence more and more in our lives. As we do so we will be motivated to obey the commandments which will help us cultivate and increase our relationship with Heavenly Father. Show more Show less
