Hi I'm Shayleen

I grew up in Arizona and Virginia. I am a wife and mommy and a small business owner and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mommy to two beautiufl little girls. I have a WONDERUL husband that loves and takes care of us. I enjoy spending time with my family and making memories that will last forever. I enjoy the outdoors, especially swimming, going to the beach and bike riding with my girls. I love people!! I love talking to others and hearing their life story. I have a passion for health and fitness and enjoy working out and eating healthy.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the teachings of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints give me direction and fulfillment in my life. I was born into the church because my parents were members. As a child I leaned on my parents testimony of Jesus Christ and His gospel. As I got older I began reading the scriptures on my own and began to feel the Spirit work in my life. I gained a personal testimony of prayer and decided that i wanted to KNOW for myself if this was the path that I should follow. I remember praying and asking very specific questions. The peace and assurance I felt was amazing. I KNEW that I wanted to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints. I was baptized when I was 8 years old and knew that I wanted to devote my life to living the gospel and following the Savior. As a young adult I decided that I wanted to share the joy and peace the gospel had brought into my life so i went on a mission to England. I spent 18 months telling people about Jesus Christ. I grew to love the people of England and I saw people's lives change as they accepted the gospel, discovered that Jesus is THEIR personal Savior and that He LIVED and DIED for THEM!!!

How I live my faith

I try everyday to live my faith. having a knowledge of the gospel and The plan that my Heavenly Father has for me gives me an eteranl perspective. My family and I belong to a samll ward (congregation) and I serve as the second councelor in the womens organization. Every few months I also teach the lesson to the womens class. I am also a visiting teacher. I am asked to visit several woman each month and share a spiritual thought and make sure that they are doing well physically, spiritually etc. I love developing friendships with these women. There is no better way to develop friendships than by serving others.
