Hi I'm Kelly

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My husband is my best friend in the entire world! We've been married four years, and met in college at the US Air Force Academy in Colorado. We currently live in Montana and have enjoyed getting to explore this beautiful state. We do everything together, but especially love anything outdoors, including backpacking, off-roading, cliff-jumping, skiing, travelling, and just going for drives in the mountains. We were fortunate enough to acquire a boxer puppy three years ago named Max, who is our constant companion on all of our adventures! We're also thrilled to be expanding our family, and are expecting our first baby (a boy!) this summer!

Why I am a Mormon

Because of the example of my husband. When we met I was not a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, but I was able to see and feel the spirit when I was with him. I had many life changing experiences, including the death of a loved one, that all culminated in a strong desire to find God and answers to life's most important questions: Why are we here, what's my purpose, does God know who I am? While I was at first hesitant to hear anything about his peculiar faith, over time I began to see a certain "glow" in the Mormons I knew. What made them so happy? What made them so devoted to their faith? One night, I was reading Acts 9 in the New Testament and read of Paul's conversion. As I read I felt the strongest impression, the strongest desire to learn more about this church that seemed to make people so happy, whose members seemed so kind and faithful! I called Tom and told him I wanted to learn more about his church, and the next day he brought over a copy of the Book of Mormon. I instantly fell in love with those scriptures and was baptized two weeks later! I'm a Mormon because I believe in the Restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that Heavenly Father loves us, that He knows us personally, and that He answers prayer. I'm a Mormon because I have read the Book of Mormon, and after much study and prayer have felt the Spirit confirm to me that it truly is scripture from God. I'm a Mormon because I found answers to those questions that I used to have. I now know my purpose in life, and that gives me peace and happiness that I never knew before.

How I live my faith

My goal is to live my faith every moment of every day. Going to church every Sunday helps to spiritually rejuvenate me at the start of every week. Praying throughout the day helps me to get through life's little challenges and allows me to express my gratitude for the Lord's blessings. Reading the scriptures each day reminds me of Christ's life and example, and encourages me to work on my flaws and try to become more like Him. Working with the youth as a Young Women's Adviser has been an awesome experience, and I'm inspired by their strong testimonies of the gospel of Jesus Christ and their positive attitudes! There are so many things I could do better as I try to live my faith, but the most important thing to me is that even when I fall short, that I keep trying to progress and improve.
