Hi I'm Travis

I'm a future educator. I write music for my band. I'm gonna run for congress! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I’m currently a student at a university in the Salt Lake City area. I have plans on being an educator, probably teaching History or Chinese. Someday, I would like to run for U.S. Congress. I started a band with some of my friends, and I write all of our music. I also sing, play the guitar and piano for the band. I especially enjoy reggae and ska. When I have time, I love camping and hiking in Southern Utah with my family and friends.

Why I am a Mormon

For a period of time, I was not involved in the church, although my family is. I had a lot of doubts about God and the teachings of the LDS Church. The thing that helped me the most was my family, friends, and church leaders. Even when I didn't want to be a part of the church, they loved me, and reached out to me. My best friend invited me to pray, and ask God if He is my Father in Heaven. When I finally accepted the invitation, my heart was filled with peace and a confirmation that He lives, and He loves me. Because of the example of my friend, as well as the support of my family and church leaders, I was able to feel God's love for me.

How I live my faith

I'm currently serving as a missionary in Taiwan. For two years, I will be able to serve the Taiwanese people, and help many of them come unto Christ. I've been blessed to see many of the people I serve overcome many trials because of their faith in Jesus Christ. I feel that my service as a missionary is preparing me for my future. I know that the most important thing I'll ever do in this life is be a good father and husband. I hope to be a good example in my own family of a follower of Jesus Christ.
