Hi I'm Kimberly

Born and raised in Australia, I'm a nurse who loves music, playing the piano and singing. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a Registered Nurse, and have been working as a nurse for 3 years. It can be really challenging sometimes, but overall I love my job! I worked in palliative care for 6 months, and hope to get back to that specialty one day. Music is one of the great loves of my life. I love to sing, dance and play the piano (not all at once!) . I had briefly set aside studying for my diploma in piano performance, but will pick it up again within the next few months. One of my goals is to learn one instrument from every family in the orchestra (next one will either be the violin, cello or flute...can't decide!). I love to cook, especially savoury dishes. I am constantly trying to make the perfect curry, but it never seems to turn out quite right! Having Italian background though, I am usually successful at making pasta. I also love to learn. Reading is a favourite past-time, particularly the classics (like Elizabeth Gaskell). I would love to complete a law degree one day, and learn another language.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Both of my parents were converts to the Church, so I was raised with the teachings and standards found in the Church. But I truly believe that there comes a time in everyone's life that they need to know for themselves. For me, I have not had a major stand out experience that has made me go "Wow! This is so true!". But I have had so many experiences that may seem small to others, but one by one has added to my conviction that the Church is true. The teachings of God as found in the Church bring me joy. I find great comfort in knowing that I am a daughter of God. Even though sometimes we may feel lonely, insignificant, or unimportant, we are of immeasurable worth to our Heavenly Father. I love knowing that even if no one else is, He is there for me when I go through trials and challenges. Knowing that families can be together forever, and that we will be reunited with our loved ones after death, gives me so much hope. I know that there is life after death, and it brings me so much peace knowing that I can continue my family relationships beyond the grave. I cannot wait to see my Grandmother again, and to meet my Grandfather for the first time!

How I live my faith

A woman named Camilla Kimball once said to "never suppress a generous thought". I try to make that my motto in all areas of my life. I think if you can finish talking to someone and have them feel that little bit lighter or happier, or see a smile that wasn't there before, it is just so rewarding. Although it can be very difficult when you are caught up in the hum-drum routine of life, it is so important to do that bit more and go the extra mile.
