Hi I'm Jesse

I love my family, my religion, chow mein, and economics. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hey guys!! My name is Jesse Merkley. Life is crazy, but it's totally worth every single minute of it. I was born in the great Cache Valley (Logan), Utah, but I've lived all over the world. My dad is in the military and that has taken us to Texas twice, Colorado, New York, and even Germany for 7 seven years. I've had the opportunity to meet all sort of incredible people, and I've learned so much about God's children here on earth. I love learning new things and studying, especially the word of God. I served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Spain, Barcelona, and it was the most incredible time of my life. I learned to love God and his children, despite the challenges that were put before me, and I saw God's hand in all of it. Now that I'm home, I'm serving as a teacher in my church congregation, and I'm studying economics at Brigham Young University - Idaho.

Why I am a Mormon

I've chosen to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because I have found true happiness in doing so. I became converted to the Gospel when I finished reading the Book of Mormon for the first time. It was then that I understood the importance of Christ's atoning sacrifice for me and everyone else. I continue to follow his Gospel because of the love that Christ has for me. I can feel it in everything that I do, and in the people that I meet, and I don't ever want to lose it. I know that he called Joseph Smith to restore the Church of Jesus Christ here on the earth again.I know that Christ loves me. I know that He loves all of us, and that He came to Earth to atone for our sins. There have been times in my life where I have made mistakes, but it is through Him that I have been able to repent and come back. I love this Gospel. I love this Church. If you want to know more, ask the missionaries, they will help you!

How I live my faith

My dad was deployed to Iraq for almost two years, and during that time I was the only man in the house. I felt pretty lonely, but my mom would come into my room every night before I went to bed and would pray with me. Her helping me get through those tough times helped me to know that God hears me. That was just the start of something that has totally shaped the way I live my life. I've always tried to stay close to God in my life. I've struggled with anxiety during some periods of my life, and during those times it was hard to see the good in me and in other people. I've always been able to overcome it by striving to look to the Lord by keeping the promises I've made to God. The best thing about it is that He always keeps his word.
