Hi I'm Jake Hopkins

I'm an Actor. I'm a True Friend. I have a Voice for Virtue. I KNOW that Christ LIVES and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am 25 years old and go to college full-time. I was born in Newport Beach, California and have one sister and one brother. I really do love my family more than anything else on this earth. I was born into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, however both of my parents are converts to the church. My Mother served a mission in Guatemala and after serving was sealed in the Temple to my Father for time and all eternity. Ever since I was around the age of 7 I knew that Christ was real. That he lives. I can remember thinking as a child about Jesus Christ and just feeling a personal connection to Him. I served a mission in Columbus, Ohio. I served all around Columbus and some areas of Dayton. I love the people that I met in Ohio very much. I have great friends both in the church and as well not in the church. I have my own struggles and challenges that I live through every day. Its only through Faith that I can do so. I feel so privileged to have prayer, faith and the word of God in my life. I have always been in love with performing on stage. I love acting, singing and dancing. Currently I am a Communications Major, and would love to work for Disney someday. I dream big and hope to achieve my hopes and dreams. I know that with My Father in Heavens help I can do all that He would have me do and being in his loving care makes me feel safe.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because simply put, I know its true. I have read the Book of Mormon and have felt the spirit testify to me that it is true. But most important over many small instances I have felt My Father in Heavens love. I have felt the spirit in so many occasions. All of my many instances have led me to know its true. I love how I feel as a member and how I felt as a Missionary serving the Lord and the People of Ohio. There I hope that I touched peoples lives as I know many of them touched mine. I consider the people in them as family. Without Christ and without my faith I would be lost in this world. Its a confusing and scary place. But with my knowledge of the gospel I am never Lost in where I am headed and what my eternal goal is.

How I live my faith

Love is the greatest commandment given us to by Heavenly Father. I have so much love to give, and find no ends to whom I can love as Christ would. I live my faith through keeping all of the commandments given to us. Even the commandment to repent, which I am in need of almost every week. I make mistakes like any human, but I find myself striving to keep all of Gods commandments.

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Jake Hopkins
We love the Holy Bible and the testifying it does of our Savior Jesus Christ. The Holy Bible helps me feel closer to the Lord Jesus Christ as I read about His Atonement on the Cross and in the Garden of Gethsemane. My favorite scripture is found in Isaiah 49:16. "Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; they walls are continually before me." I know the Holy Bible is scripture given to us from God and that His prophets wrote His words down for us to learn from. Show more Show less

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Jake Hopkins
I personally have such a love for the women of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I have had the great added measure of having magnificent women in my life, whom live the Gospel with such dedication. My mother is a gift from God for me. She has testified of gospel truths and helped me see the light of the gospel. Women and Men have carrying responsibilities in the Church, but none the less all is done for the greater good of Gods children. We treat are women and men with great respect as they serve the Lord with all their heart, mind, might and strength. Show more Show less
