Hi I'm Cynthia Armstrong

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in Cache Valley, Utah, the oldest of six children: three girls and three boys.

About Me

I am the mother of a 2 1/2 year old daughter and soon to be born (baby boy). I am due in six days! I am the stepmother of three adult children, who I helped raise since they were six and seven years old: twin boys (age 21) and a 23 year old stepdaughter, who is on a mission at Salt Lake City Temple Square. My husband and I have been married for 15 years. My stepchildren were raised in Catholic private school. My stepdaughter joined the church when she was 18 years old. I worked full-time until the birth of my daughter and am currently a stay-at-home mother. I have a Master's degree in Leadership and Human Resources. I enjoy playing the piano, flute, reading, writing, pets, travel, shopping, spending time with family, and helping others. My husband joined the church when we were married. We were married in the temple a year later. He grew up in the Catholic faith as well.

Why I am a Mormon

I have chosen to be a member of the church because I believe the gospel is true. I grew up in the church from youth, as my family were all members. As I married my husband when he was Catholic and became an instant stepmother at a young age, it was interesting to learn about the Catholic faith fro my stepchildren. Over the years, my stepdaughter gained a testimony as well. She is now serving a mission and has attended BYU-Idaho to be a teacher. In her last letter for upcoming Mother's day, she bore her testimony and thanked me for introducing me to the gospel. She thanked her father and I for raising her so that she had the skills to share the gospel with others. This truly touched me.

How I live my faith

I currently serve as the Cultural Arts Director for our stake and have for six years or more. Prior to this, I was the Ward Activities Director. I serve as a Visiting Teacher and enjoy visiting teaching. I also served as a pianist in the primary and a 4-year old primary teacher. I enjoy my current calling in Cultural Arts in helping to coordinate the 6-stake events, including our stake. The performances are amazing and the people that participate in them. I feel honored to serve with the people that I have met. Our stake has some extremely talented people. We have had events such as Savior of the World (play), the Festival of the Nativity (Nativity sets from all over the world), music workshops and the Easter Choir event each year.
