Hi I'm Abby

I grew up in the church. I'm in high school and I'm home schooled. I love to play sports, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi guys! Right now I am in 9th grade and I am really excited for this summer. I love to play pretty much any sport (especially swimming!). I am home schooled along with one of my others brothers who is in 6th grade. I also have another younger brother who is 3 and an older brother who is 19 and has Down Syndrome. I enjoy playing piano, reading, playing Wii with my brothers, and going shopping (what girl doesn't?!). I love hanging out with my friends and traveling.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church. I have many reasons to why I still follow this gospel. Number one, I know that it is absolutely true! I love how much joy this gospel brings into my life, as well as countless others! I have hit a couple rough patches here and then, but, church is what keeps me going. All I have to do is open my scriptures, and wallah! I feel better. I am in the Young Womens program in the church (for Young Women ages 12-18) and I absolutely LOVE it! We have a thing we do called Personal Progress. It helps us learn more about the gospel as well as strengthen our testimony of Jesus Christ. It also helps us prepare for our future as mothers and wives. I have already completed the whole Personal Progress program once, but I am doing it again because I felt like I got so many blessings from doing it. I love this gospel!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing what I know is right. In church, I am in a class presidency over the girls ages 14-15 (remember that I am 15 as well!). I love my calling because it helps me have good relationships with my friends as well as other girls I don't know very well. I like being able to help others when they need help.

Can you tell me about Mormon customs: how you dress for church, what holidays you celebrate, etc.?

Abby
Members of the church that go to church on Sundays should wear their "Sunday best," which means modest dresses, suits, ties, etc. Members of the church celebrate Christmas and Easter. We also celebrate other regional holidays, as well as birthdays, anniversaries, etc... Show more Show less

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Abby
Yes. A husband and wife can be together forever if they are sealed in the temple. Mormons do believe that families will be together forever. This is possible if the children are sealed to their parents. Show more Show less

Are Mormons Christians?

Abby
Mormons are absolutely Christians. We are the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saint. Notice how Jesus Christ is in the name? Therefore we are Christians. Show more Show less
