Hi I'm Taylor

I'm a college student, brother and outdoorsman. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to learn and I love understanding the world around me. I enjoy math and science because of the way it lets me gain insight into how things work and why aspects of life are the way they are. In addition to the hard sciences, I love learning about different cultures and the similarities between people accross cultures. I find that when I learn more about others, the more I grow to understand and love them. Being a student, I don't have much spare time because most of my day consists of homework, studying and attending classes. However, when I do have free time, I love spending it with my family and best friend. No matter what I'm doing, I always try to fill my time with meaningful activities because when I do, I enrich my life. P.S. I love to snowboard, hike, swim, bike, play violin and piano, and play with my pet duck :)

Why I am a Mormon

Simply put, I'm a Mormon because I know this Faith is true. I have prayed and asked our Heavenly Father and I have recieved a witness that it is true. When I faithfully read the Book of Mormon, with an open heart, I have felt peace and I know it to be true. Even with my science and logical mind, I cannot find anything within this perfect gospel that is inconsistent within itself. In school, I find that the perspective I have with the Gospel actually adds to the principles I learn in class. I am a Mormon because I have tried living by the standards put forward by Church Leaders and those found in the scriptures, and have found that by doing so, I am a much happier person with a feeling of depth in my life. If one is looking for a way to enrich his life and add to the world around him, I would invite him to consider reading the Book of Mormon. It's really quite simple. Either it's true, or it isn't, but one cannot know until he's read it. If the Book is true, then everything else that goes with it is true as well. I am a student and a Mormon, and I love this church!

How I live my faith

Like all young men, I love dating. These past few years I have fallen in love with my high school sweetheart. We've grown close as best friends and do almost everything together from fun things such as attending sporting events, doing creative dating (such as cooking with painted mustaches), to more spiritual events such as doing temple work for our faith. In every case, we have held firmly to the Prophet's council in obeying the law of chastity. I know that living by this law and abstaining from our intimate desires has been such a blessing in our lives. Not only have we become such good friends, I also feel peace and comfort and have a sense of self-confidence and self-respect that has come from living this sacred law. I have also chosen to serve a mission and have recently been called to serve in Chile. While this means leaving my college schooling, my family and my sweetheart, I have an absolute resolve that this is the correct thing to do. I am dilligently preparing to serve and I am thrilled to go! My parents (both members), my five siblings and my sweetheart are all so excited for me to go. I have no doubt the Lord will bless me as well as those I love. I know that all will be well, and I have no fear. Christ has so richly blessed my life, and I know that bringing others into his light is the least I can do.
