Hi I'm Matt Barker

Im liv'in in the south, doing my thing. I love my family and friends, and you better believe it, Im a mormon!

About Me

I'm 20 years old and im currently serving in the Columbia, South Carolina mission (Best.Mission.Ever). I love life here. There is no place I would rather be but... right here! I graduated from Brighton High in 2011 and plan to go to the local college after my mission in 2014. I love my family and friends very much, they mean so much to me and if it wasnt for them I wouldn't be the person who I am today. I enjoy rock climbing and playing sports such as basketball, football, and paintball. I have one older brother who I love dearly, he has played a huge role in my life. I have grown up a Ute fan and I dont plan on changing that anytime soon. Go Utes!

Why I am a Mormon

This is where I find most my happiness in my life. Growing up and attending church and going through high school I never really understood why I was a mormon and what it really meant. But ever since my conversion when I was about 18 years old, it all changed for me. My best friend and I read the Book of Mormon together. Through the spirit I felt and the teachings in the book... I knew why I was a mormon. The Book of Mormon and its teachings have changed my life. I love it! Its helped me really understand my purpose in life and what I should strive for. I dont know where I would be without the gospel in my life.

How I live my faith

How do I live my faith? Well, let me tell you. I live my faith by serving the Lord as a full time missionary. I have the opportunity each day to go out and share the Restored gospel with everyone I come in contact with. I love it so much! Im greatful that I have the chance to bring so much joy into peoples lives all around South Carolina.

How can I know Mormonism is true?
