Hi I'm Diane Gatton

I'm a wife, and a mother of 2 kids. I'm also a Mormon.

About Me

Hello. My name is Diane. I have been Married almost 13 years. We have 2 kids. My husband, and I will be going to college soon. We will finally be able to get our college degrees. :) I enjoy going to church, church activities, and spending time with my family, and friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I originally grew up in the ELCA Lutheran religion. I moved around a bit when I was younger. When I was a teenager my parents let me pick the church I wanted to belong to, because it was almost time for me to go through confirmation. I chose a ELCA Lutheran church. I met my husband when I was 17, and was introduced into the LDS faith. I didn't follow my husband's religion too closely until recently because I wanted to make sure I understood the choice to be baptized in the LDS faith, and I wanted to feel comfortable. As fate would have it, my husband went on a trip. People from the church helped me out, and soon after my husband returned, my daughter and I were baptized into the LDS faith. My son is now schedualed to be baptized in the LDS faith in a few weeks, and we are all very happy, very proud, and a closer family since we've started on this journey.

How I live my faith

I am very new to the LDS faith. However, since my daughter, and I made the choice to be baptized our family has been reading The Book Of Mormon. We have also been watching LDS movies, had people from the church teach us lessons of the LDS faith, and of course attend church every Sunday. We plan on being sealed in the temple as a family sometime in the near future, and we also want to take a trip to Atlanta ASAP to be able to visit the temple. I do my best to live my faith every day because it's the LDS faith that helped my family feel more at peace in our lives.

What is being a Mormon like?

Diane Gatton
Being a Mormon means that you live every day of your life keeping the commandments of Heavenly Father. It also means that you promise to pray to Heavenly Father as often as you have the chance to in your daily routine. It's important to also repent all sins you may make during the day because Heavenly Father sent his only son, Jesus Christ, to die so all of our sins would be forgiven if we simply just repent them. Going to church every Sunday is very important as well. You should always do your best to keep the Sabbath day Holy. You'll find that once you are baptized into the LDS faith that you'll actually want to be at church more, and more because they plan a lot of fun things to do. Especially with your family. The only way your life is different being a Mormon is you become more inspired to live your life closer to Heavenly Father, so that one day you can join him again in Heaven. You will also find that you will be more at peace. I can tell you that is exactly how I feel in my life. That no matter what challenges my family, or I have we'll make it through because of our faith in the LDS church. Show more Show less
