Hi I'm Tami

I'm shy, short, and a bit sassy. I'm a busy mom of 3 boys. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a stay at home mom to three young, wonderful boys! They run laps around me all day, and leave my house looking like a tornado hit, but I wouldn't trade any one of them! Life as a mom has been challenging from the start. When my oldest was only six days old, I had to be taken by ambulance to the hospital where they did emergency surgery on my heart. It was a scary situation, but I was truly blessed through the whole ordeal. I'm so grateful to be alive and able to raise my children. I'm also a lucky wife. I have a great husband who loves and accepts me and my many faults. I love to watch him play and wrestle with our boys...although I'm sure it won't be long before somebody needs a cast or stitches! Prior to meeting my husband, I was in an unhealthy, abusive relationship. It changed me. Some of the changes were good, while others I'm still struggling to make positive, even years later. I learned something very important through that difficult time that makes all the heartache worth it though. I learned how much my Savior loves me. I always knew he did, but I truly understood after that. I was never alone. He was always by my side. I enjoy writing, especially children's stories and poetry. I have always loved kids and have had the opportunity to work in both elementary and junior high schools as an aide. My most recent certification makes me an infant massage instructor. I love to offer positive touch to my children, and teach others of its many benefits.

Why I am a Mormon

I've been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints my whole life. I've been blessed to see for myself many miracles through the power of the priesthood. I've watched people love and serve each other. However, I'm a Mormon because I have a testimony in my heart. Many people saw Christ work miracles through the priesthood, and saw love and service, but still did not believe. Faith needs to be nurtured. It's an ongoing process, one of which I am striving to continue. I have experienced turning points which allowed me to take a hard look at my life, and question what I really believe. After much prayer, scripture study, pondering, studying the words of modern day prophets and apostles, and trying to live by the teachings of the church, I have felt the difference the gospel brings. I know my Savior lives and love me. I know the Book of Mormon is true, and works hand in hand with the Bible. I know that through temple blessings, my family can be together forever. I know I will see loved ones who have died again someday. I know Joseph Smith was a true prophet and messenger of God. I love our current prophet, President Monson, and believe he teaches us things a loving Heavenly Father wants us to know. I know I'm far from perfect, but I have a Savior who is helping me in my efforts every step of the way, so long as I allow him. I know this gospel is true.

How I live my faith

I have served in my church as a teacher to the children for several years. It's amazing to see their eyes light up as they understand all the blessings they are given and feel and share the love of our Savior. Visiting other women from the church is another way I participate in my ward. With my assigned companion, we go into the homes of these wonderful women and get to know them. It provides incredible friendships, and allows us to become familiar with each sisters' situation and needs. We are all able to talk, laugh, and get better acquainted, as well as share a spiritual message. It's always a good experience, and I often feel I learn far more from those I visit teach than they do from me. I also teach once a month in our class for women ages 18 and up. I love to have participation in my class and hear comments from both young and old, as each bring such wonderful bits of experience and wisdom. I usually use a manual which includes teachings from past prophets on various topics. Although teaching sometimes pushes me outside my comfort zone, it's good for me. I love to fulfill this call to serve! It's enjoyable to study the lessons and interact with those I teach. I think Heavenly Father knew it was exactly what I needed!
