Hi I'm Jake

I am from Salt Lake City, Utah. I am serving a mission in Taiwan, Taichung. I love my family and friends and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love spending time with my family and friends.I was able to go to India and teach English and since than I love doing service. I am an Eagle Scout, and I was able to go to Mexico to do service. I am grateful for all of the opportunities I've had in my life. I am a die hard University of Utah fan. Before my mission I spent a semester at the U of U and I was in the MUSS, and I am a founding father for Beta Theta Pi. I enjoy music especially reggae, but I also listen to anything chill and happy. I love traveling, learning about other cultures, and history. I am currently serving a church mission in Taiwan Taichung where I am meeting amazing people every day. The Chinese language is great and I love learning how to speak it. I love the culture, I love the people, and I love serving a mission here.

Why I am a Mormon

I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It blesses everyone's lives. Anyone can be a good person and happy without it in this life, but through the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ we can become amazing and reach our full potential to the type of person we can become. We can live better lives, be happier, and overcome any trial. I am a Mormon because my prayers are answered, I receive strength and guidance when I pray and read the Book of Mormon. Any of life's big questions can be answered through the Book of Mormon and prayer. When I live my life according to Gospel I am happier and I receive blessings everyday for doing so. It gives me comfort knowing that this life isn't the end, and that it's really a small portion of what's to come. Another comforting thought is that I know I can be with my family after this life. Anyone trial I've ever had I have overcome through the Gospel. I know God loves his children and wants us to be happy. He cares enough for us that we can pray everyday for any little thing for help.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by reading the Book of Mormon and praying everyday. Every Sunday I go to church and I follow the Prophet. Before my mission I went to youth activities and service projects. Participating in the church and living the Gospel led me to choose to serve a mission.
