Hi I'm Blaine

I am a father. I am an engineer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I come from a big family. I have four older brothers, two younger sisters and a younger brother. I am married and have a son that was born July 2015. I am a student at the University of Utah. I am studying biomedical engineering. I am almost done with my bachelors and plan to go onto get my masters. I love music. I play the piano and the trombone. I also love puzzles. I have a large collection of puzzles. Another passion of mine is rugby. I played rugby for one year in high school and loved it. During Junior High school I studied martial arts and did eventually earn my black belt. I love fantasy books. I love Brandon Sanderson books. I also love the wheel of time series! I served a mission for the Mormon church in Taiwan Taizhong mission. I am fluent in mandarin Chinese.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Mormon Church. I always relied on my parent’s faith, but it wasn’t until high school that I finally really believed in this church and its beliefs. I ran into some trials in high school that moved me to go and really find out for myself whether or not this church was true. I came to find out that it is true. God does live and he loves us and so he gave us the fullness of his gospel through Joseph Smith. I have found great joy in this church and every day I am reminded how precious this gospel is to me. I am reminded of how much I’ve changed because of it!

How I live my faith

I have found out that the best way that I can live this faith is through serving! As a youth we had weekly activities that I attended, sometimes the activity involved some service. I served as a missionary for the Mormon Church in Taiwan. Here at college I live my Faith through example. There are many people at school who are not Mormon. I strive to keep a good example to them. I live in housing with a lot of international college students. I strive to give them a great example. I love getting to know them and finding ways to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with them.
