Hi I'm Sarah

I'm a university student, a musician, a linguist, and a world traveler. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

All my life I have loved music. Music was a part of everything I did. I studied flute and piano, and I intended to study music in university and later as a career. When I got to university, I found out that God had different plans for me. The major I wanted wasn't accepting any people that year. I prayed a lot and asked God for guidance in my studies. While I waited another year to apply for my major, I finished my general classes and started taking Japanese just for fun. That was one of the best decisions of my life! I was so excited to go to my 8am classes, that eventually I decided to major in Japanese. My musical background helped a lot as I started studying languages. I am used to listening carefully and memorizing a lot, so I have been able to learn both Japanese and Chinese. I know that God helped me develop the skills I needed to do something I love. Because God has blessed me so much, I wanted to be able to do something to help others have the same oppportunity. I decided to serve as a missionary, and was called to serve in the England Manchester Mission, speaking Chinese. It was perfect for me! I love being able to use my talents to serve the people around me and help others learn more about God. Seeing people change and grow as they choose to follow Him has felt more rewarding than performing in front of thousands of people, getting good grades, or anything else I've done. I love being a member of this church!

Why I am a Mormon

My family has always been Mormons, but it was something that I had to choose for myself. I was taught from a young age to pray to God any time I had questions or problems. I know that God has always answered my prayers, even if it was not when I wanted Him to. I have prayed about this church and the Book of Mormon to know if they are true. When I did, I felt a warm feeling of peace come over me. I felt so happy and good inside. I have felt that way many times since, in church or while reading from the scriptures. Each time it confirms to me that this is the right thing to do. I know that anyone can pray to God and find answers. He loves all of us, and he will help us to find the truth and make it a part of our lives.

How I live my faith

I believe that faith is an action, a way of life. My faith is something that affects everything I do, from the language I use (or don't use!) to my priorities in life. I try to make my faith a part of each day. I pray daily and study from the scriptures with my family, I go to church on Sundays, and I keep my eyes open for the small miracles that God gives me every day. I also try to do little acts of service to uplift the people around me. Sometimes I don't know if the people I serve notice a difference, but it always makes my day a little brighter to spend time helping others. I am currently a full-time missionary for the church in the England Manchester Mission. As I missionary I am able to share my beliefs and try to lift others and help them to find or strengthen their own beliefs.
