Hi I'm Spencer

I'm studying to be a Secondary Education English teacher. I'm an avid sports fan and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a junior at the University of Louisville. I am studying to be a high school English teacher and would one day like to obtain my doctorate. I really love being outdoors. Hiking and biking are my favorite. I can never sit still and always look to be adventurous and exploratory. Another thing I really enjoy is painting, I could paint for hours on end.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up with the gospel in my life. My father's family for many many generations have been apart of the church. My mother converted prior to her and my father's marriage. I never new anything else than the church. I never really started to understand the church and gospel for myself until I moved to Louisville on my own. My testimony has grown so much and I truly see the blessing of being apart of such a wonderful church. My grandmother was my biggest role model. She was such a strong believer in Christ and his teachings. She taught me so much and I am so thankful for all she has done. I believe that I have been blessed so many blessings and opportunities throughout my life. The thing I am most excited for is to go on a mission. I still have a few years but I am so excited to be able to have the opportunity. Serving a mission has been something that every single male in my family has taken part in and I want to be able to have the blessings that they had.

How I live my faith

I just moved to Louisville a little less than a year ago. I am apart of the YSA ward here and I love it. I did travel home nearly every weekend and just recently started to avidly attend in Louisville. I do not have a calling yet but I am really hoping to be called as a teacher of some sort for the women of the church. Back home in Greenville I was very into my hometeaching. The opportunity to meet with other members of the church and just catch up and help with anything is a great opportunity. I love participating in Family Home Evening as well. It is such a great way to bring everyone together at least once a week.
