Hi I'm Spencer!

I'm a Canadian in Kentucky. I love ice cream. And I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am finishing up a Master's degree in Bioethics right now, and I'm planning to attend law school. I love to read all types of books, but I have a soft spot for fantasy and science fiction. I really enjoy playing football, ultimate frisbee, and hockey. My hobbies include gardening and cooking, and my very favorite type of ice cream is Girl Scout Cookie Samoas when I can get it.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, but I haven't always believed in the church. When I was in my late teens, I decided to really read the Book of Mormon and decide for myself if it was true. As I read, the Holy Ghost witnessed to me of the reality of Jesus Christ. As I came to understand Him better, my desire to follow his gospel increased. I have found that pure joy comes from trying to live like Jesus, and His church helps me to live like Him and be happy.

How I live my faith

I participate in church by attending weekly Sunday services and weekly scripture studies. I also meet with a young adult group every Monday to socialize, enjoy an activity, and most importantly, learn more about how we can live the gospel of Jesus Christ. I also go out monthly with my friend Joseph and visit a few members of our congregation to let them know that we care about them and to share a spiritual message with them. It's a lot of time, but it's a lot of fun and I learn a lot. My faith really influences how I act each day.
