Hi I'm Adam

I'm a college student studying mathematics. I love to play Ultimate Frisbee, and the viola. I love life, and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am from a family of seven children, and I am the youngest. I've lived in Utah most of my life. I love outdoor games, especially Ultimate Frisbee. I enjoy participating in the Boy Scouts of America for the adventure and fun of it. I also love listening to music and playing music on my violin and viola. I served a mission for the church in Maryland and Taiwan, and now I'm a college student.

Why I am a Mormon

I have decided to stay faithful to the church because I know it is true. Not only that, but it makes me so much happier to know what God has done and will do for us. It is truth I can never let go of or forget, no matter how bad the world gets. I love this gospel and I love the Lord, and I feel that I should attempt to repay Him by being a faithful member of His church.

How I live my faith

I strive to follow Jesus Christ's example by serving in the church and serving others. Through this kind of service, I'm able to learn and grow and help others live happier lives. Another simple way I live my faith is by keeping up habits of scripture study, prayer, and temple and church attendance. I especially love being involved in temple work! It helps me stay on the right path, and gives me more opportunities to serve those who haven't had the chance to accept Christ's Gospel.

Why is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints called Mormons or Mormonism?

We are called Mormons because of The Book of Mormon. This is a book of scripture we believe to be another testament of Jesus Christ aside from the Bible. We also believe in the Bible to be scripture, as long as it is translated correctly. The name "Mormons" was a sort of nickname given by those around the beginnings of the restored church. The official name of our church is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Show more Show less

What is a ward/stake/branch?

Wards and branches (branches are smaller) are congregations organized geographically. Each ward is led by a bishop, and each branch by a branch president. These are non-paid leaders who lead their ward or branch, and help it's members. They also live in the ward/branch boundaries. A stake is a group of wards and is led by a non-paid leader called a stake president. Branches can also be parts of stakes with other wards. In a ward/branch boundary, members serve others (member or not) and make many friends. Show more Show less
