Hi I'm Devin

I grew up in Utah, I'm married with one child, I'm a Master's student at Brigham Young University and I"m a Mormon.

About Me

I am a dad of a new born son. I am in my last year of college and have accepted a job with an international company. I workout everyday and love to play sports. My favorite sport is soccer. I love playing it, watching, and following my favorite teams. I served a full-time missions for the church and loved it. Although it was difficult it helped strengthen my testimony of the Lord Jesus Christ. My wife and I love to spend time together and often spend night just talking. We both love the outdoors and sports and are so excited to be parents.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were Mormon's so I grew up in the church. However growing up I got to a point when I was a teenager that I started to wonder why I was a Mormon. Was it just because my parents were? As I talked with them they didn't force me to go to church, or try and convince me that I had to be Mormon because they were. They said that I needed to ponder and search the scriptures to find my own answer. And then pray to God to confirm that the conclusion I had come too was true. So spent the next couple of weeks, pondering, paying attention to the spirit and studying to see why I was Mormon. I learned about a lot about the church and myself. I learned that in all the church meetings I felt the spirit very strongly. I learned that I had that same feeling reading the scriptures. I also learned that the church claimed to be the very church Jesus had created when he was here on the earth, with the same organization. I learned this to be true by praying and asking the Lord if it was true. The feeling of calm and comfort was one that I had not felt before, and although it was new, I had and have not doubt it was the Lord confirming to me that this was his church and that I needed to continue to be active and attend. There have been times since then that I have had small doubts, however they are always resolved by either praying again and strengthening my Testimony or by reflecting back on this original time when I learned for myself the truth.

How I live my faith

I attend church meeting every Sunday, and other days if they are held. While in the church I have often been asked to help teach the youth and participate in their weekly activities. I have loved this as it not only give me a chance to help these wonderful young men and women learn more about the gospel, but I get to learn more as well. It is great to see that the future of the church is in good hands.
