Hi I'm John Monson

I live in Pleasant Grove, UT., enjoy the outdoors, and an a college sports enthusiast. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My wife and I are raising a family of three sons and one daughter. They are the joys of our lives. We love to spend time mountain biking, camping, laughing, and watching our team play football and basketball. I enjoying vacations and time with the family. I have a son in Europe serving as a full time missionary. His letters and updates are the highlight of our week.

Why I am a Mormon

I find great joy in the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. His mercy and love lift me each day. I recognize joy comes through trying to be like the Savior. I know he came to lead the way home to our Heavenly Father. As I fall short at times, I know Christ allows me to repent and become what I should be. I know being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints brings happiness to my family.

How I live my faith

I have had the opportunity to serve the young people in the church, some of the best times is around a campfire sharing feelings and thoughts about God and His creations. I love to see my family pray together as we ask for God's blessings in our lives. My family loves to find ways to serve others. That may be part of a church assignment or even better at times by trying to find ways to be secretive about the service. We are trying to be like Jesus, following His example the best we can. When Christ says to love God and love your neighbor He knows that is where one will truly be happy. I have tried to teach my family that when we reach out to others we find ourselves and know that God is pleased. God's love is great and we love to share that when given an opportunity.

Who founded Mormonism and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?

John Monson
In 1820 the young man named Joseph Smith desired to know which of all the churches being presented to him where true. He decided to ask God as directed in the book of James in the Bible (James 1:5). In answer to his humble prayer God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ visited Joseph. Through this event and many others the Lord brought his church to the Earth. Much like prophets of old, the Lord chose to restore His church through a Prophet. The fruits of this visit included other heavenly messengers and events leading to proper authority to perform ordinances and, being directed by God, to establish His church on the Earth to prepare for his return one day. From the early days of the Church to its growth today as a global church there has continued to be a prophet, or spokesman, for God to lead and direct His Church. Today it is President Thomas S. Monson that leads our church. Since the day it was first organized on April 6, 1830 the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has been established to bless the lives of all of God's Children.
