Hi I'm Brodrick Brown

I love reading. I'm easily entertained. I served as a missionary in Houston, Texas. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in the best family ever, and had a ton of fun with my parents and two brothers. We aren't always the perfect, calm household (expecially if the word competition is mentioned) but I know that the greatest blessing in my life is my family. I recently finished a two year mission in Houston, Texas, and it was the most rewarding experience of my life. Now I'm a full-time college student.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been lucky enough to grow up in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, but that doesn't mean that I was born with a testimony of Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon. I definitely believed what my parents, friends, and church leaders told me my entire life, and I had some very powerful spiritual experiences. However, for a long time I just cruised along not really recognizing the blessing that it was to have the knowledge that I did. Then I realized that it wasn't enough just to blurt out the right words in a Sunday School class. I needed to really figure out if this was all true. I decided that I would do what I had heard of everyone else doing: read the Book of Mormon and pray about it. After I read some of my favorite parts of the Book, I truly asked my Heavenly Father to tell me if He really was directing this church, and if he wanted me to put my whole heart into serving in it and sharing it with others. As I did, I remembered all of the prior experiences I had casually brushed over in reviewing my testimony, and how amazing each one of them really was was. I felt incredible peace where I had before felt stress and worry. Now I can say that I KNOW I am really a member of the true Church of Jesus Christ, and that God really does care about each one of His children enough to answer our prayers.

How I live my faith

As a missionary I lived my faith in a very obvious way. Taking it to everyone I saw and offering it to them! Now that I'm not a full-time missionary anymore I still look for opportunities to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with those around me, especially through example. However, I live my faith by trying to be a good person and think of people the way that the Savior would. He didn't come into the world to be surrounded by perfect people and give them a message about how perfect they were. He came to invite all of us to change and learn more about Him and our Father in Heaven. The challenge is to actually remember that and apply it. I'm still working on it.
