Hi I'm Calvin

I'm a sports fanatic; I'm a missionary; I'm a disciple of Christ; and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy football, I played for many years at the Pop Warner though high school levels. I really love to watch football at the college level in particular. You could find me spending most of my Saturdays on the couch watching as many games as possible during the college season - as long as the games were good and my schedule permitted of course! I spent two semesters in college after graduating high school getting my generals out of the way and sampling a few accounting courses, but I'm not set on what degree and career I wish to pursue yet. I am currently serving a full time mission for the Church in British Columbia.

Why I am a Mormon

I was blessed to be born into a family where many of my family members are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I have grown up attending church weekly and have had the wonderful opportunity to attend seminary and institute religion classes throughout my high school and college schooling. I am grateful for the knowledge that I have gained of the love my Father in Heaven and His son Jesus Christ has for me. My conversion to truly know and understand that Joseph Smith was commissioned - by God and His Son to restore the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ to the earth in these days - came gradually throughout my life as I have gained a greater knowledge of the gospel. I love the stories of the Savior as He ministered to the people in the Gospels. I love the experiences and miracles the early Apostles had throughout the Book of Acts. And I love the simplicity in which the Book of Mormon contains the doctrines of salvation. I may have wavered in my faith at times in my life, but I now know with a surety that I have always known these things to be true. That Christ suffered for my sins and that He has a plan for me on Earth. That President Thomas S Monson is a true and living prophet on the earth today. And that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true Church of Jesus Christ on the Earth today.

How I live my faith

I have the wonderful opportunity to serve as a missionary for my Father in Heaven. He has blessed me immensely throughout my life and by serving Him as a missionary I have the opportunity to increase my faith and knowledge as well as bless the lives of others, who are seeking to find meaning and truth and come to know their Savior more. I live my Faith by being obedient to the commandments of God doing all things he would have me do. There is no greater way to show my love for my God and my Savior than through obedience and good works or actions. I love to pray to my Father in Heaven as this is the best way I can communicate with him to find truth and understanding in my life as He will always answer our prayers.
