Hi I'm Kathy

I grew up in Southern California. I was an acrobat in the YMCA Youth Circus for 5 years. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have a love for sports whether its participating or watching. I love life and feel that staying active and physically fit help me to be more capable of enjoying the things I love. I love my family and though we are spread all over the country I am thankful for technology like video chats and blogging to keep up with everyone's lives. I am learning to be better at sewing, cooking, and organizing. I am a hair stylist and plan to work out of home when I have children. I love to travel and learn new things.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents are both converts to the church. My mom at 21 and my dad at 23. They raised me in the gospel and I chose to be baptized at 8. I have never known much about other religions but I always knew The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was the only true gospel on the earth. I have never felt more drawn to anything in my life and I have never experienced anything else that has brought me so much joy. I have had to make serious decisions throughout my life and I know the world offers such great and exciting things but I know that the church leaders are inspired to give us council and guidance to protect us from the harms of the world. I may not understand exactly why we are told certain things from our Prophet and leaders but I have enough faith to know that it is good and I will only be blessed if I follow. Most often I later understand why. There are plenty of religions who can offer some good things and help you through tough times but for me that is not enough. This gospel gives protection and specific guidelines, and is the only church to hold the keys to lead you to Eternal Life and Exaltation. I know this life will not be the only opportunity we have to choose but I choose now to follow His Gospel so that I may be one to help others find and enjoy the true blessings of life.

How I live my faith

With our ward I work with the 8-11 year old girls. Usually twice a month on a week night we hold an activity where we teach them about things like the Word of Wisdom, being kind to others, and encourage them to memorize scriptures and prepare them for opportunities to share the gospel. I also will be attending a girls camp which happens once a year for about three days for the 12-18 year old girls. At girls camp a location is chosen where the girls can learn and practice outdoor things like reading a compass, purifying water, and learning about nature and how the earth works. There are spiritual devotionals and a testimony near the end of the week where girls are invited to share their testimonies of the gospel with their peers. I remember going as a youth and I hold some of my most pleasurable memories from the times I attended. We learned fun songs and it was great for me to see other girls my age who loved the gospel like I did. The church has a lot of great programs and I know they are all inspired. I see the good change in peoples lives when they choose to be active and I see the sad change when some choose to fall away. I am grateful I am able to participate with the youth of the world!
