Hi I'm Erick

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married to Gretchen since 2005, and I have a beautiful 2yr old daughter, Elise. I am currently teaching Squadron Officer School for the Air Force, but by trade I am a Logistics Officer and have deployed both to Afghanistan (2008) and Iraq (2011). In the winter, our family will move to California, so I can learn Indonesian. I enjoy learning and exploring new cultures and I love outdoor activities. My hobbies include: spending time with family, reading, playing video games, and watching movies.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a member of the church, and I have always known that the gospel is true. Saying that, it is important to understand that there was a time where I had to stop relying on the testimony of others...I recall this occurring before I went on my mission to Guatemala. It was on my mission that I came to the conclusion that it was ALL true...it had to ALL be true, because if it wasn't, then none of it was true, and God did not exist. There has been too much overwhelming evidence in my life, and I cannot deny the existence of God...what a blessing to have that testimony! I know that the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ, and that Joseph Smith brought this work to light and translated this testament through God's design. As a prophet, Joseph Smith testified of Jesus Christ, and as a missionary I testified of Jesus Christ. I know that Jesus Christ is our Savior and Redeemer, and every time I share this with someone, I truly feel the spirit testifying of its truth.

How I live my faith

I do what I can to be the best example for my daughter, I try to incorporate what I learn from scripture study to my current trials and issues, and I strive to be a better husband today than I was yesterday.
