Hi I'm Diantha

I grew up in Idaho. I'm a communications graduate students, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a graduate student earning my master's in communication. I hope to work for a university relations office when I graduate. I'm a writer at heart. I've two passions: writing and people. Fortunately, both can be found in communication. I love my family. I come from a family of all girls and my dad said he couldn't be happier. He passed away a few years ago, but I still keep a picture of him by bed. I also have a twin sister; she is absolutely amazing! I also have three other sisters who are very dear to my heart. I wouldn't trade my mom for anyone--including Mrs. Poppins. She's the coolest.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born a member of the church, but like every member realizes sooner or later, you have to know it to be true for yourself or you're going to leave the church. I was blessed to know that the church was true as a child. One night when I was about 10 or 11, I read the Book of Mormon for the first time by myself. A warm feeling enveloped my heart. It was a feeling of security and peace, and I knew that what I was reading was true. What's more, I knew that my Heavenly Father and my Savior loved me and that I mattered to Them. I know that God has never abandoned me. I've felt depressed, lonely, and rejected. I've been through the ringer, as it were. But I know with certainty that I was never rejected by my Father in Heaven. He loves me. He helped me feel peace when my daddy passed away. I know that I will be with him again because of the truths taught in the gospel and because my mom and dad were sealed in the temple for time and all eternity. I know that we are all children of God, that He loves us, and if we keep His commandments (mainly, loving Him and His children), then we will be saved and live with God and our families again after we die. We are saved by grace after all we can do. None of us can return Home alone. No matter how perfect we are, we depend upon grace to reach heaven. But keeping the commandments shows God that we respect and care about Him and allows His grace to take effect. I am so grateful for this. I love the peace and happiness in my heart. I wish that every one could feel this way.

How I live my faith

The main thing about the living the truths of the gospel is sharing the love. I try to share the happiness inside my heart with others. Whether it's smiling at a stranger, picking up groceries spilled from someone's shopping cart, or just giving a warm hug to a friend, I know that by being kind I share God's love. This helps my love to grow and increases what I can give to others. I enjoy praying. I like the peace that I feel as I pray. I also love to read the scriptures and hear God's word. I enjoy listening to the prophet and other church leaders because I know that they are close to God and can disseminate what God wants us to know. I love God. And that's why I keep the commandments and have His love in my heart.
