Hi I'm Emily

I'm a retail store owner, a therapeutic horseback riding instructor, a sister, a friend, a volunteer and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in California. I attended school in Idaho where I developed a deep love of horses that I have carried with me since. In my free time I enjoy writing, reading, rock climbing, hiking, 4 wheeling and pretty much anything else you can do outside. About 3 years ago I began teaching disabled children and adults how to ride horses. Little did I know that I would learn more from my students than I would ever be able to teach them. Their capacity for love and acceptance is amazing, a small taste of heaven right here on earth.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it makes me happy! The knowledge that I have of the gospel provides a deep peace and assurance that I wouldn't want to live without. I know that we have the fullness of the gospel and that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. I have been blessed with so much in my life because I have followed the teachings of the past and present Prophets. They truly are God's mouthpiece on this earth.

How I live my faith

I always like to tell people that I'm Mormon, not a saint. I have trials and troubles just like the next person. I have done things in my life that I am not proud of but that is what makes the gospel so amazing. The gospel doesn't require you to be perfect all the time, it requires that you try your best to do the things that you know are right. One of my favorite quotes by President Monson is "Courage isn't always grandiose. Sometimes courage is the little voice at the end of the day that says, 'I'll try again tomorrow." This is a gospel of improvement and I strive to bring myself closer to Jesus Christ and my Heavenly Father each day (some days I get a little closer than others).
