Hi I'm Maria
I was born in Lima, Peru. I come from a family of eight. My mother was very devoted to taking care of her children. In my early childhood, our family was Catholic. Even though we lived in a poor part of town, we all loved each other. In 2010, my family went through a very traumatic expeirience. Three of my children and I were involved in a serious roll over car accident. At the same time, we were going through something most people were also experiencing at that time; a financial crisis. Through much fasting and prayer and the tender mercies of the Lord, we survived both trials.
Why I am a Mormon
I am a Mormon because I believe that God loves all his children without distinction. I know that God is a perfect being because he called Prophets in ancient times to guide his children. He also called Prophets in mordern times to guide his children. The Bible and The Book of Mormon are testaments that God has been, is, or will be, actively involved in our lives. I beilieve that God helped my family and will help my family with any test we go through.
How I live my faith
We are taught that one of many purposes of our life here on earth, is to increase our faith in God. My faith is increased when I follow God's commandments, when I pray, when I read my scriptures, when I go to church to listen to others' spiritual experiences, when I read God's servants' messages, and finally when I serve my family my fellow men and my community.
