Hi I'm Lynn

My home is New York City. I'm a midwife. I'm a daughter, a sister and aunt and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Phoenix, Arizona. I graduated from Brigham Young University in 1984 and then attended Arizona State University. I taught 4th grade for about 10 years. I decided to take a year off and move to New York City for an adventure - but I never went back home. So now NYC is my home and over the last 16 years I went to BMCC and NYU to become an RN and a Certified Nurse Midwife. I have a dog that keeps me going!

Why I am a Mormon

My parents joined the church when I was three years old. I remember going to church with my mother before we joined the Church of Jesus Chirst of Latter-day Saints and crying during the whole service. I either cried because I didn't like the feeling there or because my dad stayed home. My mother and father investigated the Church and decided to join - a year later we were sealed together as a family in the Temple. I grew up living the gospel and as a young adult worked on gaining my own testimony. After a lot of searching and prayer I did gain my own confirmation of the truthfulness of the Gospel and I decided I wanted to live my life this way. Thirty years later I haven't regretted that decision for one minute. The Gospel brings clarity and peace to me everyday.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by attending my meetings on Sunday, serving in the church and in my community and by trying to live by faith and obedience to the principles of the Gospel. Serving gives me a great sense of satisfaction and living in accordance with the principles of the Gospel gives me the opportunity to increase my testimony and helps me feel closer to God.

Who is the Mormon prophet today?

Thomas S. Monson is the prophet today. We believe in having a living prophet and 12 Apostles - the same way that Christ organized his church while he was living. Show more Show less
