Hi I'm Justin

I'm from Idaho, I'm a student, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in the church by very active parents. I was blessed to be taught the values of the church at a very young age and I grew to love and appreciate them all my life. When I was 14 years old, I moved with my parents to Peru because they were called to be missionaries. It was a great experience for me to live among those of another culture as well as to be around so many missionaries. I learned from the humility and faith of the people there. When I was 19, I was called to serve as a missionary in Mexico City, Mexico. That was the greatest experience of my life. My perspective on life and people changed as I was able to share what I believed and knew to be true with other people and as I was able to see a change in the lives of those people. I am currently a student and Brigham Young University.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I received a answer from God that the Church is true. As a brand new missionary, I realized that I did not have a real testimony of the gospel. I did not want to preach to others about it if I didn't know for myself that it was true. So I studied in the Book of Mormon and the Bible and prayed often asking for an answer from God to know if the gospel was true. On one particular day, I received my answer from the Holy Spirit, which gave me a feeling of peace and happiness, telling my heart that the church is true. As I continue to live the gospel, I can still feel that happiness. I know that the church is true and that there is a prophet on the earth today. I know that Christ lives and that our Heavenly Father has a plan for us.

How I live my faith

I have been inspired by a quote from Lorenzo Snow, who said, "Knowing our religion to be true we ought to be the most devoted people on the face of the earth to the cause we have embraced." I am inspired by the dedication that I see in those of other faiths and it makes me want to be more dedicated to Christ. I try to do this by focusing on the simple things that I can do: reading the scriptures each day, praying, serving others, etc. I also serve as a clerk and have used this opportunity to try to get to know other people and to help others feel more welcome to church.
