Hi I'm Joy Bueno

I'm a soccer mom. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother of 4 children, 1 girl and 3 boys. They keep me crazy busy and sometimes just plain crazy!! I love being a mom and a wife. Some days are better than others but I just keeping thinking I will get it right one day so I just keep trying. I enjoy being a stay at home mom just focusing on the needs of my family. At this point in my life, I feel it is all about them. I do workout and recently started running, I feel healthier and more energetic so I can keep up with their schedules of soccer, karate, dance and just hanging out with friends and family. I love going and doing but I do appreciate our quiet family times. I know this time of my life is busy but I know I will miss it shortly as my kids are growing up so fast. I just want to make each moment count and enjoy our time together before the kids are out the door raising their own families.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been blessed to be a Mormon since birth. I am truly grateful for being taught about my Savior, Jesus Christ since a young age. At each stage of my life, I have been taught lessons that have helped me live a happy life. I have been able to make positive choices in my life that have brought happiness and joy instead of following the ways of the world that are confusing and often lead to heartache and sadness. Even though I have been a Mormon since birth, I have still gone through my own conversion, it has been a life-long and on-going conversion. Throughout my life, I have often been touched by the Spirit about what I was learning and I felt it to be right and true. I have learned little by little and still have so much more to learn and be converted to. My most powerful testimony came when I was trying to decide if I should get married or not. I was reading and studying the New Testament. I prayed and fasted for help to make the right decision. I recieved so much more. As I studied about Jesus Christ and his ministry, I KNEW he was my personal Savior and that he and my Father in Heaven loved me. I also knew I was to marry and my husband is one of the best things that has ever happened to me, second only to having a testimony of my Savior, Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

For me, one of the best things about being a Mormon are the many oppurtunities to serve. I love that I have been taught to always try to lend a helping hand or give a smile and hug to brighten someone's day. I am happiest when I am doing for others rather than thinking of myself. I have enjoyed teaching children of all ages, I find that their energy is awesome to be around so I am not sure who is helping who! I have planned activities and potlucks that have brought members together to fellowship and strengthen one another. Mormons love to eat and visit, it is always good times!! I enjoy planning activities for the women because I really feel that being a mom is the hardest job and we need to come together and help each other and support one another. Park playdates usually end up to be the best as the children are happily playing and us mom's just get to relax and enjoy a little adult conversations! I love any kind of service, it is always so rewarding to me. I feel closest to my Heavenly Father when I am helping his children. Not long ago, we had devastating tornados in our area. My mother got in the car and tracked down who was coordinating cleanup and helping the poor families hit. She quickly was directed to one of the local baptist churches, where we were able to get out and help families in our community who had lost so much and couldn't possibly take care of their own needs. It was hard work but very satisfying. My family, friends and our children were able to help. We also put the word out to our local churches, where the youth groups and others came out to help. The famillies we helped were so appreciative. That is what is all about, loving one another!
