Hi I'm Joshua

I grew up in Midvale, Utah. I enjoy performing and composing music for piano and guitar, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi my name is Joshua and I was born and raised in Midvale, Utah. I am the oldest of six children. Ever since I was young I have loved the power of music. When I was little my mom would play the piano while I danced and sang. As I got older I wanted to play piano like my mom and grandpa. I enjoyed memorizing my favorite songs and playing them for my family and friends. When I was sixteen I stared playing guitar and writing my own songs. Over the years I have enjoyed composing positive spiritual songs that I hope will move and inspire others to do great things. I really enjoy learning new things through reading and interacting with others. I believe that by educating myself about the world and those around me I can become a greater influence for good wherever I may go. I also love spending time with my family. I enjoy playing games with them, teaching them, and working with them on various family projects.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family that belonged to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. We attended church weekly and would would spend time together as a family on Sundays. Even though I was raised in the church I did not gain a personal testimony until I was sixteen. At the time I was facing some difficult challenges and was living away from my family. It was at this time in my life when I began to gain a testimony of the Atonement and the healing power of Jesus Christ. Through studying the scriptures and making the process of repentance active in my life I had a mighty change of heart. I began studying the scriptures for the fist time and applying them to my own life. Going to seminary also helped me make changes in my life for the better. It was there that my testimony was strengthened and nurtured through loving friends and trusted leaders. Over the years I have continued to be active in the Church. I enjoy serving in my callings and drawing closer to the Lord each day.

How I live my faith

As a youth I was unable to serve a full time mission. However, I did serve as a ward missionary in my community. I enjoyed teaching lessons about the restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ and the basic principles of the gospel. I now attend a ward with my family where I serve in various callings. Each Sunday I have the privilege of teaching a class that focuses on the basic principles of the gospel. I love having an opportunity each Sunday to share my testimony with the members of my class. I also play piano and lead the music in a meeting where all the men in my ward come together to learn about the gospel of Jesus Christ. I also have the opportunity to visit families in my neighborhood with my dad at least once a month. We visit with these families to see how they are doing and to share with them a current message from leaders of the Church of Jesus Christ. Through reading the Book of Mormon each morning I find strength to face the challenges in my life. I also communicate with my Father in Heaven through prayer throughout each week. I have found great comfort in knowing that whatever problem I may be facing at the time I can always turn to my Heavenly Father. He is always there for me even when I make mistakes. I try to set some time aside each day to ponder about my life and evaluate myself. It is during these times that I can acknowledge my weaknesses and set goals to improve on them. I know that I am not perfect and that I have a lot to learn, but I enjoy doing what I can each week to serve others, improve myself, and come closer to Jesus Christ.
