Hi I'm Brian

Husband, Father, Child of God

About Me

First and foremost, I am a father and a husband. I love my family. My greatest memories are of times we have shared together. I am a welder / metal fabricator by trade. I am a leader in the Boy Scouts of America. My interests include camping, fishing, motorsports, hiking, and my newest developing intrest, scuba. In general, I love the great outdoors and all it has to offer. I look around and I am grateful and amazed with the world the Lord has created for us.

Why I am a Mormon

I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I grew up in the church, and couldn't always tell you why I am a mormon. There was a time when it was because everyone I knew and loved was a mormon, and that's how I grew up. As a young adult, I began to question why I was living this way, and I had my share of trials and tribulation. I now have a strong testimony of this great work. I have confirmation of it every time I serve others, everytime I speak of it, every time I study His words, every time I follow the living Prophets councel, every time I share my testimony. I pause and look back at what I have experienced in my life, and find it is at the times that I was striving to live the gospel that I have had the most joy in my life. I still have trials, but I am able to endure them and be better for them because I have Jesus Christ in my life. I am grateful for His attonement and sacrifice for us. I believe in the Lords plan for us. His eternal plan of happiness. My family is very important to me, and the thought of spending eternity with them brings me great joy. I am grateful to know that families are forever. I am grateful to be sealed for time and all eternity to my presious wife. I am grateful to know my Savior Jesus Christ. and I am grateful to be a Mormon.

How I live my faith

We have so many opportunities in this life, we are so blessed. When I think of living my faith, I think about service to others. In my community, I am a member of C.E.R.T. ( community emergency response team ), trained to help organize my neighborhood in a time of crisis. I am also a leader in the Boy Scouts of America. I love this service (as I have loved every church calling I have had). The youth today are incredible and capable of so much. I am a teacher. I teach my family and the youth of the church in lesson and in deed. I have been blessed with a testimony of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Living that testimony and living by example, while not always perfect, is an important aspect of living my faith. I'm just trying a little harder to be a little better every day.

Why is family so important to Mormons?

Why is anything you love so important to anyone. I think the more important question is... How can I be together with my family not only in this life, but in the life to come? Death in this life is not the end. We believe that families can be forever. We put a great deal of effort into our family relationships because we know that we can be together for ever. The famliy setting is the perfect environment to nurture, serve and teach each other. My family is more important than anything I own. I can't take my car, home, or atv with me when I die, but my family can be there with me, and I'll do what I can to see that happen. Show more Show less

What blessings can we receive through the gift of the Holy Ghost?

The Holy Ghost can be, upon living righteously, a constant companion. The Holy Ghost is a comforter in times of trial. He is guidance in times of unsurity. I have felt the companionship of the Holy Ghost in times when I have been teaching my children. The Holy Ghost has been there when I have had to make a difficult choice. When I study the scriptures, the Holy Ghost cofirms the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon, and the Bible. Having the Holy Ghost in my life IS the blessing. Show more Show less

Why is it important for us to take care of our bodies? Why are our bodies called temples of God in the Bible?

Our bodies are a gift from God, and created in His image, but our bodies are only part of who we are. We are spirit children of our Heavenly Father, and our bodies and spirit make up the whole. It is important to keep our bodies healthy and strong so that we can fully participate in the life we have been blessed with. When we understand who we are, and where we come from, we understand that it is important not to defile the "temple of our spirit". We believe that by caring for our bodies, we are also caring for our spirit. We strengthen our spirit by study and prayer, likewise we care for our bodies by eating healthy and by putting nothing into it that may be harmful or destructive. Show more Show less
