Hi I'm Chance

I was born deaf and raised by faithful parents. I'm now a dedicated runner and an artist. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Being born deaf has been a a grueling trial- a trial that I am thankful for. I know Heavenly Father had a plan for me in this life and I know that there was a reason why I'm born with out the fullness and perfect clarity of hearing because of my many prayers throughout my life have been answered. I was raised by goodly parents, my father converted to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at age 12 and my mother being born in the church. I have three brothers and one sister. They are each talented, unique, and full of the light of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I am a runner. I love the feeling and the energy of running countless miles. Its helped me stay healthy and strong, I could never dream of stopping. I just love it! Not only am I talented and dedicated in my running, I dedicated in artistry and in my faith. I paint, sculpt, and draw-I prefer painting. My art has not only been a way to share my view of the world and my imagination, but a way for me to spread Heavenly Father's message in the world today. My personality can be described in three words- determined, headstrong, and caring. I try everyday to give someone a warm smile that will bring happiness in their life- why? Because it drew me out from my dark corners of life and inspired me to live my life to its fullest.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the gospel. Being deaf has been really hard and I've been though teasing and judging in my early years, but my parents taught me the Plan of Happiness and the Restoration of the church and it helped me to stay strong in life today. I can't imagine my life without the gospel. Whenever I didn't have the Holy Ghost with me, I felt lost and sad. I never wanted to leave the church and I look forward to church every Tuesday (young men's and scouts) and Sunday(sacrament and sunday school). Why exactly am I a Mormon today? Its simple- I want to be and I know the church is true with all my heart and soul. I can feel the intensity of truth whenever I speak of the Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I bear witness that Joseph Smith was a beloved prophet and that he brought the true gospel back to the world we live in. I know with all my soul that the temple is the true place where families are sealed for all eternity and that we will see them in the realms of eternity. I know that the missionaries are out there to preach the gospel and bring the glorious gospel to the people who want the message- the message from our Father in heaven. I know Jesus Christ died for us, he atoned for our sins and he showed the true love of our Father in Heaven. I know that he was resurrected and he broke the bonds of death. I know that there is a heaven. We will be blessed with everlasting life and knowledge from our Heavenly father and we will live with Him and our Savior, Jesus Christ if we are faithful to his plan. I can testify that if you seek the Lord in prayer, He will guide you on the right path.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by following the commandments of our modern day prophet, Thomas S. Monson. He has said for us to "Arise and Shine Forth", meaning to come out in the world and shine our light upon others. I do not drink, smoke, or take part in any activity that will make me unworthy to pass the sacrament, go to the temple, and marry my future eternal companion. I may not be like some members who go out strongly with faith and testify right on the spot, but I do testify when I feel the Spirit telling me to share when someone is hungering for it. I try to be an example of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I want everyone to join the church. So they can all be happy with out Father in heaven.
