Hi I'm Amy McRae-Brownlee

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 35 years old and a Registered Nurse in a local emergency room. My husband is a stay at home dad, which in my religion is not very common. I have 4 children, that I like to call his, mine and ours. My oldest is 17 and is from my husbands first marriage, my 10 year old is mine from previous relationship which my husband has adopted, and then we have a 5 year old and 3 year old together.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a convert to the church 3 days after my 21st birthday. In my youth I was hard headed and did many, many things wrong. I always had to do things my way. I found the gospel when I was married to my ex-husband. When I look back I think I joined just to please my husband at the time. I now know that it was the right thing to do. Many experiences in my life has lead me to this point and I had to reach bottom in order to come back to the top. I know that I am a sinner and that everyone else in the world is the same likewise. However, I NOW know that it is belief in my Savior and in the Lord God that I may be forgiven of these sins and shortcomings, and that I have to continually endure and repent in order to return to live with Heavenly Father again.

How I live my faith

To live my faith I have to continually remind myself that I will do things wrong. Not that I want to but that I am human and do err. Each day, week, month and year I have to strive to make myself better. It's hard, I don't always succeed, but the ability and forgiveness of the gospel and the church will allow me to once again be with my Heavenly Father. As the assistant compassionate service leader I get to see members at their happiest (birth of their children) and the saddest (death of a family member). It gives me an opportunity to see the compassion that people in general, not just members, have towards others. It is contagious.
