Hi I'm Valeria

I've been proudly raised in the Midwest by a loving family, have become a citizen of the world through travel, and I'm Mormon.

About Me

I'm a sophomore in college, which is crazy to believe! Time truly has flown by! I am studying General Business Management and Hospitality Management with a minor in Spanish. I love to travel and explore new places. This hobby can be hard, expensive, and challenging, but I find more growth in those difficulties and challenges. Along with traveling, I enjoy to run and play sports. Being active is truly important to me, and just like traveling and exploring, these also call for lots of personal growth. Music is another important part of my life, since I would not and could not live without it. Whether I'm dancing to it, singing to it, humming to it, music is almost always accompanying me in everything I do. Playing the piano is a relaxing way to feel music as well for me. I wouldn't be the person I am today though with all the support of my family. I am the baby of the family, with two older sisters, who are very close in age, and two loving parents.

Why I am a Mormon

My mom and dad are converts so I was born into the church. Their testimonies have helped me grow my own testimony. Since I was little, I've been going to church, so having that strong foundation in my life has influenced so much the decisions and ways I live my life. Being in my youth, I always went to church activities like Girls Camp and Youth Conference. It's amazing how much you can grow from these experiences. Hearing others share their testimonies, with so much spirit, it testifies that this gospel must be true. Seeing the wonderful and beautiful world as I've traveled, it gives me no doubt that God must have and did create this world though Christ. I have so much faith in his wonderful and perfect plan, that just makes so much sense to me, despite many questions I still have. Unfortunately in this life time, we will not learn about everything, but that is why faith is important. I know that God has people here on Earth to help and guide us though, like the prophet. I know that Thomas S. Monson is the living prophet today, and I know how much he truly loves and cares for us. I am thankful for Jesus Christ, and his sacrifices he has done in order to save us. He truly is so essential in this whole plan, because without him, we would lose hope. He is our mediator, our advocate, our savior, and our companion in everything we do, as long as we allow him to be. I believe in the Book of Mormon, and know it is another testament of Christ, and it contains essential gospel doctrines that help us understand much profoundly the meaning of our life's. I am so thankful for this gospel, and all that it has taught me so far. Thanks to it, I know where I'm from, I know where I stand, and I know where I want to end. This guidance in my life has made all the difference in where I am today. This gospel has also strengthened my family and unified it. Thanks to the ordinances we made in the temple, I know I can spend eternity with them. I know that God and Christ live, amen.

How I live my faith

I am a chorister and I sometimes play the piano for sacrament. I love going to mutual, which is a church activity on Wednesdays. They are really fun. We do services around 2 times a month. We do joint activities with the boys once a month. We do different things, like movie nights, tie die shirts, game nights, and fun things like that. We learn a lot. I go to seminary, which is a bible school at 6 in the morning from Monday to Friday during the school year. It is hard to get up really early, but it is definitely worth it. I go to firesides and church dances, which are a lot of fun.

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

Reading the scriptures always helps us increase our faith. If we pray before we read them it helps us feel the spirit. It is something that you feel. Going to church also increases our faith. Listening to the Prophet makes me feel the spirit very strongly. Show more Show less
