Hi I'm Carlos

About Me

I grew up in Las Vegas, NV. Currently serving in the Maryland Baltimore Mission and I absolutely love it! I will return home to Redmond, WA in October of this year. I love this church and all the accompanies it. I have a strong testimony of the Savior Jesus Christ. I love my family so much, they are a great support to me. i believe that I would go absolutely insane if i didn't joke around sometimes. I love being able to balance hard work and obedience, while having a sense of humor. I love playing sports, especially basketball and volleyball. I am in love with A Cappella music. I am a servant of The Lord, a son, a brother, a joker, and I'm a MORMON!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in this church. But everyone who knows about the gospel of Jesus Christ, knows that even if you grew up in this faith, you eventually become a convert. I always knew that our beliefs were right, and I lived them for a good long time while I grew up. By the time i reached high school, I was surrounded by a lot of negative influences. Our Heavenly Father has given us the ability to make our own choices. Unfortunately, I made some poor decisions. I slowly, but surely got caught up in a lot of worldly influences and realized that I was headed in the wrong direction. I thought back on all the things I was taught growing up and i chose to exercise my faith, to see if they really were true. I am a living witness of the reality of Jesus Christ as our Savior and Redeemer. He loves us, and wants to forgive us of our mistakes. That knowledge alone is what keeps me going.

How I live my faith

Right now I am living my faith by sharing it with as many people as I can in the city of Columbia, MD.

Mormons believe Jesus Christ is their Savior. Why do we need a Savior?

Carlos
I am nowhere close to being perfect. I have made plenty of mistakes and I don't feel very good about them. As I grew up, my mother taught me about Jesus Christ. My church leaders, friends in the church and many others also talked about Jesus Christ all the time. So I thought I knew who He was. But I can honestly look back on those times and admit that I had no idea how Christ could play a part in my own life. Through repentance, I was able to feel the loving arms of my Savior around me, comforting me and assuring me that I could overcome my faults. In the scriptures we are told, "How great is His joy in the soul that repenteth." I know we make our Savior indescribably happy when we repent. There is no better feeling than knowing I have been forgiven of The Lord. Without this forgiveness of our sins, we just simply cannot be clean. Our Heavenly Father is a just God. There are consequences for our actions. With Jesus Christ as our Savior, mercy is extended and it satisfies the demands of justice. Because Christ has performed the Atonement, we can be cleansed in this life and look forward to happiness in the life to come. This is why we need Our Savior. Show more Show less
