Hi I'm Karen

I grew up in San Diego. I am a wife and mother of five children. I enjoy photography and music. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy anything that is beautiful in life, nature, people, art, food and family. I have been married for thirty two years and have five wonderful children ranging from thirty-one to eight. I am a grandmother of two girls who live less than a mile from me and twin grandsons are coming shortly! My wonderful mother who is almost eighty lives with us and I really enjoy caring for her. She has been a blessing and example to me at every stage of my life. I've previously worked in the dental field for eighteen years. I really loved the dental field and enjoyed helping to provide such a valuable service. However, I've always had a desire to be home with my children and have been able to for the past eight years since the birth of my youngest son. I love family activities, especially the ones that include water, (boating, beach, swimming) I like showing my love for my family by cooking good food for them. Life hasn't always been easy but it has been good. We have had our struggles. But like most people I wouldn't want to give up the things I've learned from hard times. Life is full of bitter and sweet.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I came from a family of nine children with an incredible mother and father. I was very blessed to be taught the principles of the gospel of Jesus Christ as a young child. My parents taught me what they believed to be true and then allowed me to learn for myself by applying these principals. As I lived the things I was taught and as I sometimes made mistakes, I was able to see the benefits of obeying Gods laws. I was a happier person. As I later had hard experiences in life. I turned upward for help. I developed and continue to develop a relationship with my Heavenly Father and my Savior Jesus Christ through prayer and scripture study. As I have had many of lifes challenges come my way I have had my prayers answered in a variety of ways and know I can trust God 100%. This brings me peace and allows me to live life without worry and anxiety in the future. I know He is in charge and will give me the strength I need to carry me through life's difficult times. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because I know it is Christ's true Church restored by Christ through a prophet he chose. Christ organized His latter day church the same way he organized His church while on the earth. I know this is Christs true church through study, prayer, personal spiritual confirmations and experiences, just as well as I know the sun will come up tomorrow. I know Jesus Christ continues to direct this church through living prophets. I receive joy from sharing what I know to be true. This is why I am a Mormon

How I live my faith

I try to follow my Saviors example, He set for me. I try to overcome my weaknesses and flaws by praying daily and asking for Gods help to change me. I read my scriptures daily and learn of Him so I will know Him and His ways and feel of Gods love for me. I have the opportunity to teach the 16 years old Sunday school class and discuss gospel truths with them. Many times I learn from them! I reserve my whole heart for the Lord and work hard to not let unimportant things consume my heart. I try to help my neighbors and others I see in need. I try to see others as the Savior would and love and enjoy them rather than judge them.
