Hi I'm Katie

I am a Floridian. A sister, mother, Dental Assistant, AVON Representative, Cub Master and serious Scouter. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been doing Dental Assisting for over 30 yrs. I started selling AVON products in 94' and still enjoy it today. I am a Scouter and became a Cub Master in 2010 (previously a Den Leader) and earned my Wood Badge Beads this year. This is a very high award for adults in Scouting. For those who know what it is, I am a Bear. I am also part of the BSA District Commissioner Roundtable in my area. Love to line dance, read, garden, paint, teach, and create.

Why I am a Mormon

In 1986 I joined the church while living in Maryland. I am an Osmond fan and this is what got me interested in investigating the church. I joined for myself, not because of the Osmond's. I actually started saying prayers and reading the scriptures, something I failed to do as a Catholic. Even though I went to church each week, I felt it just wasn't enough. Once I joined the church, it has done so many things for me both spiritually and physically. I was one of those rare people who just called and said I would like to know more about the church. Much joy on the missionary end. I still keep in contact with the Sister's who taught me the truth. The one thing that held me back from joining was the belief in Joseph Smith. After reading a book about him, I got this feeling he was watching me and smiling. At that point, I knew it was true and I wanted to be a part of it. Heavenly Father is there for us in so many ways. Just 2 weeks ago, I was looking for some money I had collected for a Cub Scout fundraiser and for 2 days I couldn't find it. Then while at work early, I got this impression it might be in the recycle bin ready to be picked up for trash. I thought, "No, couldn't be", so ignored it. Then got the impression REAL strong to go home and look. Sure enough, I did and lo and behold the envelope was on the top. Wow, I realized Heavenly Father was telling me to get home and get the money. Listen when you get those impressions, cause Heavenly Father is talking to us through the Holy Ghost.

How I live my faith

I am into Scouting as mentioned before. When first called to do this, I was like "Me, I don't know anything about Cubs", let alone 8-10 yr old boys(I have a daughter). But after 4 months of Den Leader, I finally realized this is what I would like to do. I have done so much in the 3 years in Scouting and enjoying it completely. I have done so many other things in my many Wards. I have spent a lot of time working with the young children in our church and I actually work with kids in my daily job.
