Hi I'm Diane Stewart

I love track and field. I took a year and a half off to help people in the Philippines. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm going into my last year of school as a landscape management major. I like working outside and turning something ugly into something beautiful. Aside from landscaping I enjoy hiking and seeing some great views. When I'm not in school or working I enjoy just taking some lazy time and reading, watching movies, or chatting with family and friends. One of my greatest thrills is learning something new and this summer it has been baking bread and finally learning to drive a stick.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was younger I went to church with my parents, but I didn't know if what I was learning was true. I always wondered where I could find the greatest happiness in my life. When I was about 14 I started studying the Bible and Book of Mormon in a religion study class at school and praying to know what was true. I didn't get a answer right away, but I decided that I wanted to live what I had been taught. Things like being honest, serving others, being baptized, going to church each week, paying my tithing, etc.. were all things I did to see if it brought happiness and peace into my life. It did, and I have found so much peace and happiness and in my life as I have followed the teachings of Jesus Christ. I would literally be lost without the direction and guidance I find through the gospel and through the church. There is so much confusion in the world today and a lot of people are looking for peace and direction and truth. The gospel of Jesus Christ has provided that for me and I believe will provide it for everyone who seeks after it. As I served the people in the Philippines I shared the joy I found in my own life and was able to see the same joy come into their lives, and I know that that happiness will come to anyone who will honestly seek for the truth.

How I live my faith

I try and include my faith in everything I am doing. I used to think trying to follow Jesus Christ's example meant doing big things, but now I just try to send a smile or encourage other people around me whenever I can and it brings me happiness knowing I am helping Him by serving other people. Right now I get to teach other girls my age about once a month about our beliefs and it is great seeing other people understand gospel teachings better and get excited about living them too. When I am keeping the commandments and trying to follow the Savior's example I find myself living a much happier life.
