Hi I'm Jared Theobald

I grew up in Houston Texas. I love wakeboarding, surfing, and working out. I'm a linguist in the Air Force, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up close to the beach, and would go all the time with my family. I love everything in the water, especially wakeboarding and surfing. I also love sports, baseball and basketball were my two sports growing up. One of my favorite things to do is going to the gym with my brothers. Going on surftrips to mexico and central america with my brothers is filled with many great adventures and memories for me.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a mormon family, but i didn't always believe in my families religion. There came a point in my life when i knew that i wanted to be where ever truth was, and that desire is what set me off on my journey. The reason i am mormon though, is due to the time that i spent reading the scriptures and sincerely seeking to know truth, like what is this life all about? There has to be a purpose and meaning to why we're here. The answers came slowly but surely as i continued reading scripture and praying, asking to know where i needed to be. Through the promptings of the holy ghost i came to know that Christ lived, took upon himself the sins of the world, was resurrected, and that He's real. By that same influence of the spirit of God i came to know that a prophet had been called in our day, even Joseph Smith, and that the fulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ had been restored once more on the earth. What a blessing it has been in my life to have inspired direction from a living prophet, to learn and live the gospel, and to see the wonderful blessings that have come into my life as a result.

How I live my faith

I'm 26 years old, and when i was 19 i chose to serve as a missionary for 2 years. I was assigned to go to ukraine and speak the russian language. From that experience i never wanted to stop learning and growing in the gospel. all my friends who weren't very religious always respected my decisions not to go to parties, not drink, not smoke, or do other things that would diminish my faith. I'm actively involved in a college age group where we attend church services every sunday, religion class during the week, and almost always some service or fun activities on the weekend.
