Hi I'm Kendra

I'm the youngest of five children. I am currently a graduate student studying Computer Science. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up as the youngest, and only, girl of five children. Everything that I learned about being a good person and parent I learned from my parents. When I was three years old, my parents took in two of my cousins who were being raised in a very bad situation. It was a huge transition for my two brothers and me, and we didn't understand why these new people came into our family. As we grew up together, though, my cousins have become brothers. Throughout my life, my parents continued to bring others into our home that needed help, whether it was an issue of bad parents, a bad husband, or a bad living situation for their entire family. We spent many Christmases with guests in our house, sharing what little we had with them. My parents have shown me what it truly means to bear others' burdens, to make others' burdens lighter.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I can't imagine living any other way. I've watched others who have grown up without the light of the Gospel or have chosen to live another way. I have watched the struggles that they have gone through. In contrast, I have seen blessings in my life that have come from being a member of the church. I still have struggles, just like everyone else, but I know that I would never be able to get through them alone. There was a time in my life when I wanted to give up. I I felt useless. I didn't have a job because I didn't think that anyone in their right mind would ever hire me. The women in Relief Society helped me to see past myself and to see what others saw in me. Their faith in me helped me to move forward with my life and go back to school. I have never felt as loved and supported as I did by those sisters.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to do what is right. I learn what is right by reading the Scriptures. In those books, you can learn so many great lessons on how you can live your life to be happy. I've have learned what true happiness is through reading the Scriptures.
