Hi I'm Courtney

I love to bake, exercise, laugh, clean, watch chick flicks and spend time with my husband. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

If you were to ask my my husband to describe my personality he might use the words: quirky, spunky, or sassy. Basically all you need to know is that I love life, I love my husband, and love to be happy. One of my passions is baking- after a long day there is nothing that a freshly baked good cannot fix. I graduated from college as an athletic trainer and it is seriously the best job out there. I love knowing how the human body works and how to help fix it should an injury arise. My husband is an avid runner and since I cannot keep up with those long legs of his I have started roller blading (and I love it!) We also like to hike, backpack, fish, eat lots of food, play the guitar and spend lots of time with family and friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I was lucky enough to have two parents who love the gospel and incorporated it into our daily lives. I always went to church and believed in the gospel, but it wasn't until high school that I really had to decide if I wanted to be a Mormon. Lots of my friends were involved with activities that were harmful and demoralizing yet very popular. I saw the sadness and pain it brought to both themselves and those that were closest to them. When I read my scriptures and prayed to my Heavenly Father I knew of his love for me and felt His constant companionship. He was always there for me during difficult times and never left my side. It was then that I truly accepted the gospel into my life and became determined to share it with everyone. Life became even sweeter after that and my resolve to "do good continually" has brought wonderful friends and experiences into my life that further strengthen my testimony. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints IS true. I just know it.

How I live my faith

Right now I serve in my ward as the Young Women Camp Director. What that means is I get to work with the young women, ages 12-18, and help organize the girls camp they attend every summer. We camp in the mountains for about a week. During that time we practice skills like wilderness survival and teamwork but we also focus on feeling Heavenly Father's presence in the nature surrounding us. We sing songs, read scriptures, share our testimonies, hike and focus on being away from "the world". It is a wonderful opportunity to get to know each other, spend some time in the outdoors, and feel the love Heavenly Father has for us.
