Hi I'm Blake

I'm a graduate student, a father of two, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a graduate student in Mechanical Engineering. I use lasers and special digital cameras to measure fluid dynamics. I try to pause on occasion and see the beauty in the work and think about the genius behind the natural laws that govern what I measure. I have two children that are a lot of fun! I am grateful for the times together, whether it's playing with cars and trucks or chasing each other around our home. I grew up in Utah and served a full-time mission in Toronto Canada. There I met people from all over the world and grew to love their unique characteristics and languages.

Why I am a Mormon

Many people in this world feel lost and that life lacks purpose. Following our Savior's Gospel brings protection, peace, and purpose. Even when we lose our way, we can come back into the loving arms of Jesus Christ by believing in Him and following what He has asked us to do. I know that Christ's teachings are found in this Church and our lives can be full of joy as we follow them. Ancient scriptures contain His teachings and the modern prophets help us apply these teachings in our ever-changing world. I love the safety here and hope to live it throughout my life.

How I live my faith

I try my best to be a good father. It's not very common in higher education to see a student with even one child, let alone two. Certainly raising a family and pursuing education isn't easy, but with the dedication of my good wife, it's possible. I love my wife and my children and rejoice in the thought that we can always be a family, even after we die.
