Hi I'm David

I'm a dad to five beautiful daughters. They make every experience memorable. There's nothing like being a dad. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a public school educator and spend my days with kids, their teachers and families in a young, growing community. In the evening, I rush home to join my wife and our family of girls. We love to spend time together cooking, watching movies, listening to and playing music, taking day trips to nearby places of interest, vacationing close to home, and keeping up with our girls' schedules. For us, it's all about family.

Why I am a Mormon

I've been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints my whole life. In that way, it's always been a part of who I am. As a dad, I continue to follow His gospel because it helps me make sense of things that happen within a family unit; the good times and the times that try us. I know that the precious daughters God has entrusted to my care have an important role to fulfill and that my wife and I have made covenants with God to teach them and support them to become what He would have them become. It's only through His guidance through prophets and apostles that I can rest assured that the things we are doing as a family will accomplish that goal. It's amazing to me the number of things that a family can feel on any given day. So much of what my girls face in the world today challenges devotion to family and picks away at who they truly are as daughters of a Heavenly Father. Following the gospel of Jesus Christ brings a spirit into our home that combats the influences of world and brings a sense of peace and confidence that God knows who we are and wants more than anything to help us be truly happy.

How I live my faith

Living the gospel is a big part of our life as a family. Opportunities to serve are all around us and we try to take advantage of them. Right now, as a young family we try to teach our girls that living our faith is really practiced at home in the way we treat each other. Kind words and acts of service that meet the needs of a family member can be the very best way to follow the Savior. We love being involved with young people the same ages as our girls and always take opportunity to assist where we can there. I enjoy the opportunity to meet regularly with a few families in our neighborhood sharing teachings of the Savior that can help brighten their day and give them direction as they meet challenges specific to them. Hopefully, the best way we live our faith is by having a smile on our faces because we know that God lives and that there is a plan for each of us to be happy and to overcome things in our lives that keep us from feeling that close connection to Him. Jesus Christ plays a central role in that plan and has the power to heal no matter what the circumstance. That brings us true joy individually and as a family.
