Hi I'm Pania

My world revolves around my family, food, and music. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I live in a beautiful part of the world in Melbourne, Australia. I'm the eldest child in family full of women (+ my dad) and am blessed with huge extended family who mean everything to me and a real strength in my life. I love spending time with my family and eating good food. I was recently married to my best friend and am enjoying starting a family of my own. I love music - going to live gigs, blasting it in my car, playing piano and teaching it. I also love being outdoors and exploring beautiful places with my husband. I currently work as a marketing coordinator and enjoy reading and writing.

Why I am a Mormon

I was taught from a young age how to pray and how to recognise answers. I can remember experiences as a child feeling God's love for me. As I got older I always believed - living the teachings of Jesus Christ seemed difficult and strict to my friends at school, but from my perspective they made me freer and happier than anything the world could offer. Gradually through studying the Book of Mormon and praying I came to know that the Book of Mormon was true, Joseph Smith was a prophet and the church was the only true church on the earth. I still have so much to learn but I know those fundamental things are true, independent of anyone else. God continues to answer my prayers every day and I need His help more than ever.

How I live my faith

For me, learning about and believing in Jesus Christ naturally leads to a greater desire for change and progress in my life. I have weaknesses like everyone, but I know that the Saviour Jesus Christ has and continues to help me become a better person - each day hopefully a little better than the last. Being a follower of Jesus Christ means I'm trying to be like Him - trying to love others more and judge less, helping others, working on my relationships with family and friends, and trying to do some good in the world. Christ didn't have worldly praise or popularity - He quietly served those who were need, one by one, seeking to do the will of God. That's the kind of person I want to be. And while I fall far short of that goal, when I try I feel true joy because I know I'm on the right path in life.

What is being a Mormon like?

It's the best! Living the gospel of Jesus Christ doesn't mean all your problems are solved - life is still hard, but it's so much easier having the help of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. Whenever I have a problem or a decision to be made I have confidence that if I follow the principles taught by Christ in the scriptures and by living prophets, I will have made the right choice. Being a member of the church has been the source of my greatest joy - having so many opportunities to serve others, sharing my beliefs and seeing others come to know what I know, being married to my husband for eternity, knowing I will see loved ones who have passed away again, knowing my prayers are heard and answered - these are the sources of true joy in my life and they all come from my membership in the church and my beliefs.
