Hi I'm Casey

I'm an Aunt. I'm a Disney fan or life. I love to paint. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 18 years young. I have been an Aunt for 3 years. I'm a convert. I go to college and am working to become a grade school teacher.

Why I am a Mormon

In my younger years my family always had this sense that we do everything we do because we want/need to, not because there is some kind of higher purpose. In other words my whole family are athiests. I was brought up to have this tough exterior because the world could always hand me something quite unexpected. As I became older I started to feel like there was something missing, like there was something else to this world than the unexpected. In my Junior year of High School I met my best friend who just happened to be a Latter Day Siant. When he started talking to me about the church I told him that I didn't want to learn about a book. Sooner than later I started asking questions about the activites he was going to and why, how, what, who, and many more other questions. Finally he gave me a book called "Our Search for Happiness" by M. Russel Ballard, which I highly recommend to anyone who wants to have a great understanding of this gospel. Once I was done reading that book I wanted to learn so much more. So I started to take lessons and go to church and I knew that the church was true because throughout my days of thinking that there must be something more, this is what I asked for. I knew my prays had been answered. Although when I asked my father if I could be baptized he sincerely opposed the idea and since I wasn't 18 I couldn't get baptized without his permission. So through much patience I waited for my father to see that I wasn't joining the church for a friend or something of material value but that I was doing it for ME. The day that my father gave me permission to get baptized and the actual day of my baptism are 2 of the happiest moments of my life. The day I got baptized and took my first breathe after I was emerged into the water felt like a little peice of Heaven and the weight of everything else before that moment had lifted off my shouders. The gospel has still to this day made my life full of happiness and I can't get enough of it.

How I live my faith

Through my faith I try to do as much service as I can. Wether it be a service project with my fellow Latter Day Saints or with my close friends or family or maybe even people whom I have just met, I try to help in any way I can. O and I try to make everyone I know laugh no matter what. Thier smiles make it all worth it at the end of the day. :)

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

To be put simply no we do not worship Joseph Smith. We worship God our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ as our Savior. Joseph Smith was a Prophet chosen by God and we respect Joseph Smith as such. Now to be a Prophet is an important position in the church. Prophets are chosen by God to do His will on Earth and to help guide/prepare us(His children) for an eternal life and return to Him one day. Show more Show less
