Hi I'm Joshua Price

I from Huntington Beach California, I play volleyball, I'm on a mission in Paris, France. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm on a mission in Paris France! Previously, I lived near the beach where I began playing both court and beach volleyball. I was on my high school's varsity volleyball team and had the best time playing my favorite sport. Additionally I enjoy trying new things and one of my favorite mottos is that I will try nearly anything once. It sounds lame and nerdy but I truly enjoy learning; whether I love it because of the challenge or it could be the satisfaction of doing something worthwhile I can't tell, but I do know it makes me happy. Right now I'm a student at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah and having the best time of the life. Going to college has been an amazing experience and choosing to go to BYU has been one of the best choices I've made in my life. I've already met amazing people and I can't wait to go back following my full-time missionary service for the church.

Why I am a Mormon

I've been lucky enough to be born into a practicing Mormon family with good values and few problems. As I was young I attended church, did all of the necessary requirements to become a member, and generally tried to be a good kid. Basically, I was living off of my parents belief of church and happy to be in that position. I remember fighting my parents all the time about going to church but I almost always went mostly due to their persuasion. It wasn't until about my junior and senior year of high school that I truly began wondering about my beliefs. I was confused and distressed about whether or not this church I had been with for 16 years of my life was really true. I didn't have an awe-inspiring "conversion"; I simply did the little things every day like reading the Bible and Book of Mormon, praying sincerely, and going to church. Following the motions allowed me to gain a greater testimony of the church. Additionally I watched as my parents sacrificed for the church and shared their love for it. I think what really converted me was the love and absolute feeling of comfort I have whenever I think of my Heavenly Father and His son Jesus Christ. I can feel his love every day in my life as I make mistakes, overcome them and continue to make the same mistakes. I've been blessed into a wonderful family that I am lucky to have, and I want to bring that happiness I have to everyone I know because true happiness is impossible to achieve without understanding how much God loves us.

How I live my faith

I've had many different responsibilities or callings in church. I've participated in planning activities, visiting the sick and afflicted, helping people move, giving generalized service to people and organizations, and many more things. More recently I've been a teacher to the middle aged men in our church and taught them about our responsibilities, our purpose, and other gospel principles. I've also been able to serve in leadership positions where we search out those who are struggling in life, with the gospel, or just having a hard time and try to help them out. I think the most important thing I try to do is just love people more and more everyday as Jesus does. By doing so it will automatically make me more charitable and happy.
