Hi I'm Mike

I'm a Mormon. I moved to League City, Texas from England and I coach soccer and teach high school math.

About Me

I grew up near Leeds in England. I was adopted by an awesome family. My passion growing up was playing soccer. Now I teach high school math and I am the head coach at my school. I spend all my spare time coaching my kids and serving in the church. I served as a missionary in new York city and loved every minute. Coming home was hard but my life changed forever when I met my wife to be. We are happily married with 3 kids.

Why I am a Mormon

I was adopted by a latter day saint family. As a young child I was taken into the care of social services and one of the families that I was placed with were also lds. They took me to church and every week a would seek out another lady in the congregation. She would soon become my new adoptive mother. I was baptized shortly after my 9th birthday but didn't become truly converted until I was a teenager. I learned for myself that God lives and has a plan for me. I learned that following his commandments protects me and my family and helps me to live a happier life.

How I live my faith

Being a mormon is not a 1 day a week church. Of course we go to church each Sunday but there is so much more with other activities like scouts and other things. We all serve each other with a calling that is determined by the bishop. I am currently in charge of missionary work and helping the missionaries.

How is the Book of Mormon different from the Bible? How did Joseph Smith obtain the “golden plates” or Book of Mormon?

Mike
We love and use the bible hand in hand with the book of mormon. Just as the bible was written by prophets who lived in the eastern world, the book of mormon was written by prophets who lived on the American continent. It is another witness of Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
