Hi I'm Brian

I'm a Veteran Police Officer who served in the United States Army and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father to three great kids who I don't see as often as I would like since me and their mom got divorced. I grew up in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints but fell away from the church when I was a teenager. After about 17 years away from the church, and attending several other churches, I found my way back to the truth, love, and blessings of Christ's church. Me and my family have received so many blessings since coming back including finding my Eternal Companion.

Why I am a Mormon

Yes I grew up in the LDS church but I wasn't truly converted until I was about 35 years old. My mom was a convert to the LDS church and she found a way to get her 7 children to church on Sunday even though she never had a driver's license. My mother lost her fight with cancer when I was 8 years old and returned to our Heavenly Father. Before she died she wrote all of her children a letter and one part of her letter to me said "your life is God's gift to you..what you do with it is your gift to Him". After getting divorced I realized I needed Jesus Christ back in my life. Through my mom's words, constant prayer, searching the Scriptures, talking to missionaries, and seeking answers I found my testimony in the truthfulness of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ which is only found in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I know without a doubt that Joseph Smith was a prophet called of God in these latter days to restore his church on the Earth. The same church that Christ established in ancient times namely a church of order with living prophets and apostles established through proper priesthood authority to testify of Christ and conduct His work. I know that through Joseph Smith proper priesthood authority was restored to the Earth so all of these things could be put in place. Why am I a Mormon? Because I believe in Faith, Hope, and Charity with charity being the pure love of Christ. I know that my Lord, Savior, and Redeemer, Christ himself, lives and loves us and sits at the head of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

How I live my faith

My spiritual life has grown by leaps and bounds since returning to prayer to my Father in Heaven, searching the scriptures, and finding my testimony in Jesus Christ's church. Faith is what inspired this recent experience in my life: My years away from church meant many mistakes in response to the trials in my life. As I returned to church at 35 years old I had questions as to if I was doing what the Lord wanted me to do. In prayer and scripture study I sought an answer for weeks. I had not received an answer but I knew that one would come when Heavenly Father knew it was time. Then my faith was tested in preparation for an answer: I was working the graveyard shift and got off at 6am. I was extremely tired but was being prompted to drive to the Houston Temple. I didn't listen at first and as I got ready to get into bed I prayed and was prompted again to go to the Temple. I was tired but I got dressed and drove to the Temple. As I drove I couldn't hold back the tears as I was filled with the Spirit. When I arrived on the beautiful Temple grounds I immediately started into prayer. As I prayed I was prompted to read the scriptures, so leaving my prayer open I started to read the scriptures. Then I prayed and pondered some more still leaving my prayer open. After about an hour and a half of prayer, pondering, and scripture reading I was prompted to search the scriptures. I did so and was directed to Doctrine and Covenants section 6 verse 14. I couldn't stop crying as I was filled with the Spirit and had received an answer to my prayer. Section 6 verse 14 reads: "Verily, verily, I say unto thee, blessed art thou for what thou hast done; for thou hast inquired of me, and behold, as often as thou hast inquired thou hast received instruction of my Spirit. If it had not been so, thou wouldst not have come to the place where thou art at this time."....Jesus Christ is the only perfect person to walk the Earth but through our Faith we can be perfected through Him.
